Health care on the front lines needs every dollar we can find. I believe that PC Leader Tim Hudak has been very clear and principled on this matter. Under a Tim Hudak government we would see an increase to frontline healthcare and the elimination of the wasteful spending of the LHINs (Local Health Integration Networks).
It’s time to move on and learn from past experiences. As the Italian philosopher, George Santayana said, “those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” We certainly have learned from our experiences. Unlike the McGuinty Liberals we are ready to apply these valuable lessons and the suggestions from Ontarians about how to improve and better the healthcare system of Ontario, notably because our population is aging.
Investment in frontline healthcare is the solution. As stated, a PC government would remove the red-tape that currently restricts the healthcare system in this province. We can help people get the medical attention they need and are entitled to. Under McGuinty’s leadership we have seen hospital wait times increase to over 9 hours for emergency room visits. We have seen the closure of hospitals in one place only to have a new hospital, one built or revitalized in a Liberal riding for political gain. We saw McGuinty demonstrate this with the Toronto Grace Hospital during the Toronto-Centre by-election and I am certain we will continue to see more “Liberal” giveaways in hopes of securing seats on October 6th. It’s your money – it’s not the property of any government, past or future.
Unlike Dalton McGuinty, I have more faith in the intelligence of Ontarians to see through empty promises that McGuinty has become famous for making. Taxpayers recognize that under Dalton McGuinty’s leadership Ontario has nothing to gain and everything to lose. We need change. People approach me and ask, ‘when will McGuinty’s reign of mismanagement and poor fiscal planning end?’
Under a Tim Hudak government we will see increases to frontline healthcare and the elimination of the LHINs. The money that is currently wasted at the LHINs will be reinvested in frontline healthcare. Ontarians deserve accountability and deserve a system that has their best interests at heart.
