(Thornhill) – Today the new Peter Shurman, MPP – Thornhill website was launched. After a lengthy review of the previous site, Mr. Shurman noted “As the MPP for Thornhill it is my responsibility to ensure my constituents are informed and made aware of actions of the Ontario government and what is happening in their community. This new website will do just that!”
Since the rise in social media, MPPs and MPs alike have turned to the Internet to open their offices up to those who cannot come in to meet with their representatives but still need information on government programs and services.
Shurman, an avid “Tweeter” and “Facebooker” remarked, “A good website is only half of the equation. I can only give input on what I know; I encourage the community of Thornhill to share their suggestions and community information as to how we can continually improve the site and what information they want available on it.”
Since beginning this process, Mr. Shurman has asked his constituents and community members to submit photographs and brief testimonials to help promote and highlight the great community of Thornhill.
Peter Shurman is the Member of Provincial Parliament for Thornhill. He was first elected to office in October 2007 and proudly serves the community at Queen’s Park.
