Despite gloomy weather forecasts for Sunday, event the weather co-operated for the second annual Thornhill Community Barbecue hosted by MPP Peter Shurman and MP Peter Kent.
"The weather seemed to co-operate with us this year, and it made all the difference," Mr. Shurman remarked.
During the afternoon both the provincial and federal politicians made brief remarks nothing that the Thornhill shows off the spirit of community.
Residents enjoyed food, live music and candid conversations with their elected representatives. The afternoon kicked off with some Beatles' cover songs and both politicians enjoyed meeting the families and individuals who attended.

With an inflatable jumping castle, grills turning out hamburgers and hotdogs, some great live music and a magician and balloons circling around, the atmosphere was more like a carnival than a political event.
The annual Thornhill community barbecue was started in 2009 as a means for the elected representatives to show their appreciation to the community.
