Shurman noted, "I have been a fan of Prager?s which made it even more of a thrill for me to introduce him.? Both Shurman and Prager had the opportunity to meet and visit with the guests during the cocktail reception, held at the Riviera Parque Dining, Banquet and Convention Centre.  All were happy to honour this year?s recipients, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Dr. Dan Farine for their tireless dedication to community service.

"Speakers like Prager offer real insight into current affairs and offer plausible solutions," stated Shurman.   Shurman added, ?It seemed fitting to have Dennis speak as we honoured two men who have done so much to help the community.?

Peter Shurman, MPP attends Chabad Israeli Community Centre Annual Dinner

 

[Thornhill] ? Thornhill MPP Peter Shurman was pleased to attend the Chabad Israeli Community Centre's Annual Tribute Dinner in Vaughan yesterday, honouring members of the local community.    Shurman was invited to introduce the guest speaker, renowned journalist and political thinker, Dennis Prager.

 

Shurman noted, "I have been a fan of Prager?s which made it even more of a thrill for me to introduce him.? Both Shurman and Prager had the opportunity to meet and visit with the guests during the cocktail reception, held at the Riviera Parque Dining, Banquet and Convention Centre.  All were happy to honour this year?s recipients, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Dr. Dan Farine for their tireless dedication to community service

 

Prager spoke to a captivated audience of more than 100 people including members of Vaughan City Council and other local elected officials.  The audience was enthralled by the renowned speaker who shared his thoughts on a range of topics, with none more interesting than the current state of international affairs. "Speakers like Prager offer real insight into current affairs and offer plausible solutions," stated Shurman.   Shurman added, ?It seemed fitting to have Dennis speak as we honoured two men who have done so much to help the community.?

 

The Chabad Israeli Community Centre programs are committed to maintaining and enhancing Jewish traditions for Israeli and Jewish families throughout Thornhill.
