Ontario's Conservatives want to know why the province spent $81 million to build an energy plant to power the Windsor casino in Finance Minister Dwight Duncan's riding.
Tory critic Peter Shurman says he wants to know why the plant was built and why the Ontario Lottery and Gaming corporation owns a power plant.
Duncan wouldn't elaborate in the legislature about the cost of the plant, which is owned by OLG, citing a recent lawsuit over its ownership.
But outside the legislature, he denied any suggestion the plant amounted to political pork-barrelling in his Windsor riding.
But Duncan seemed displeased with the plant's price tag, saying it was one of the reasons he cleaned house at problem-plagued OLG.
Buttcon Energy, which operated the plant until recently, has filed a $355-million lawsuit against the OLG, alleging breach of contract.
The claims have not been proven in court and OLG says it will fight the allegations in court.
