On November 11th we honour the Canadians who, having heard the call of duty, sacrificed their youth, their health and far too often their lives, in service to their country.
It is a day when we remember those who fought to protect the most fundamental right of all: freedom. They did so in parts of the world that might have never seen a Canadian, but which will forever owe a debt of gratitude to our soldiers.
Our country has always been fiercely dedicated to upholding the values of freedom and democracy. Many Canadians who enlisted to fight in World War I or World War II lied about their age for the chance to stand against tyranny, simply because it was the right thing to do. Their generation shaped this nation and it is thanks to their sacrifice, their courage and their unwavering patriotism that we can enjoy the freedoms Canada treasures today.
Our soldiers continue to risk their lives so that others can have a chance to live in peace, freedom and prosperity .Their dedication has taken them to North Korea, to the Middle East and to various other parts of the world, and like the generations before them, they continue to make Canada proud.
So on November 11th, on behalf of the constituents of Thornhill, ?Thank You.?
We will never forget.
